Wheels & Heels Gala at LeMay – America’s Car Museum Goes Virtual on Saturday, September 12, 2020
Annual Fundraiser Benefits Renowned Automotive Museum and Its Partner Nonprofits
TACOMA, Wash. (August 26, 2020) — Due to state mandate prohibiting large gatherings during the Covid-19 crisis, America’s Automotive Trust is going virtual for its 2020 Wheels & Heels Gala. The event is free to join at www.americascarmuseum.org and will take place Saturday, September 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Hosted by David Silverman, the event will allow auto enthusiasts and education supporters to enjoy a live stream of the “Mechanics in Motion” Virtual Gala & Live Auction and bid for live and silent auction items. They’ll also learn more about the programs offered by the collaborating nonprofits, which will benefit from the event: America’s Automotive Trust, LeMay – America’s Car Museum, RPM Foundation, and Techforce Foundation.
The event will also see the presentation of three awards to those who have made a substantial impact in the automotive community. Car collector Bill Parfet will be presented with the Nicola Bulgari Award. Longtime Tacoma philanthropists John and Marilyn Dimmer will also be presented with the President’s Award for Outstanding Service, and Alex and Amanda Haugland will be named as the Master Collector recipients.
The online auction will begin at 6 p.m. The online auction will begin at 6 p.m. It will feature a wide array of spectacular items to bid on, which includes VIP-level experiences at the legendary 24 Hours of LeMans car race and the Kentucky Derby. Private racecar driving experiences, sunset yacht cruise on Lake Washington, Canyon River Ranch fly fishing expedition, multiple adventures, and items for wine lovers.
